“Relax and Know that All is Well” is a life mantra of mine. I am in Houston visiting family. William is in heaven playing with his cousins. When they get together it is as if they had never been apart. His joy is evident.
“Relax and Know that All is Well” describes the mom I want to be on this trip. In the past, I have had the tendency to place William under a microscope and well, what followed was never really very pretty or very pleasant. Kristen (my niece, who we are visiting) and I made a pact to be in “good mommy mode” for the visit. It’s always so helpful to join together with someone to insure a successful outcome to any intention. I so respect Kristen’s parenting and her friendship so it was great to be “in this” with someone who shares my intention.
It has been a wonderful inner practice to silently remind myself to breathe, relax and know that all is well… realizing that I don’t need to act on every impulse to “correct”. William seems so much more relaxed and “himself” than ever before. It’s like the Marianne Williamson poem, when I give myself permission to ‘relax’ I unconsciously give everyone around me the same permission. Whether it is accurate or just my perception, I am grateful for the closeness that I am experiencing with William and my family.
How are you giving yourself permission to “Relax and Know that All is Well”? The practice is so simple. The result is so profound.
