The willingness to sit with, be present with and nurture uncomfortable emotions allows us to hear the message that the emotion is trying to bring us.
Once we receive the message, the emotion dissipates. This powerful practice allows us to experience discomfort – eventually to “talk out”, but not “act out” that discomfort onto others – especially our partners and children – those closest to us. This is Emotional Self-Care.
