Pain comes because we feel disconnected from our Soul. Our culture teaches us to care for our bodies and our external world however, it does not teach us how to care for our innermost sacred self, our soul, and spirit.
We’re taught that we can’t feel Light, expansive, and “good” AND experience pain at the same time. We’re taught that we either feel good OR we feel bad.
When you give yourself the space for self-compassion, you begin to reconnect to your higher self, and your soul and then you can BRING your Soul, your Light, your expansive Self TO your pain.
So, what is the Soul anyway?
The Soul or the Spirit is the greater and larger part of ourselves – it’s our essence. It is the part of ourselves that experiences awe, wonder, and beauty in our everyday lives. We can embody it through experiences of music, nature, a cup of tea with a girlfriend, a Rumi poem, connecting with a pet and so much more.
We do not have to DO anything, we simply have to BE in the present moment. Our culture teaches us that we have to do more, achieve more, and accumulate more. The Soul teaches us to sit, pay attention, stay present, observe, breathe and CONNECT.
Mainstream culture is mired in the psychology of the mind. My Courses explore, experience, and embody the psychology of the Soul and the Spirit. The visible and the invisible, the highest parts of ourselves, and our Dharma, our true nature. We climb to the mountaintop and look down at ourselves. In doing so, we are able to observe and HEAL the roots of our hurt, anger, and pain.
